HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF HERNANDO COUNTY WILL ACCEPT AN APPLICATION FROM YOU IF YOU MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS. + You are currently living in sub-standard, crowded or temporary housing, or your income to housing cost ratio is more than 30%. Housing cost is the total of your rent, taxes, insurance costs divided by your monthly income. + You can’t get a government or bank loan. + You have sufficient income to repay the Habitat NO INTEREST mortgage. + You agree to partner with Habitat for Humanity. + You currently live or work in Hernando County. + You are not on parole or probation. + You are not a registered sex offender, sexual predator or convicted drug dealer. + Your long term debt to Income ratio is not more than 40%. Long term debt is debt that will take more than 10 months to pay off. The percentage is determined by dividing you income into your total long term debt. + You meet the financial requirements . |

Applicants who feel they qualify will be given an appointment to come in and sit down with a counselor to fill out an application to continue in the process. |
When you are given an appointment you will need to provide the following documents: + Picture I.D. + A credit report for the + Proof of income; W-2, pay + Social Security number + Proof of SSI or disability + Proof of debts; credit card bills, + Copy of checking and/or savings + Name and address of landlord. + Name and address of employer. + Proof of American Citizenship or
